Algo: Supply Chain Analytics Collaborative Platform
Privacy Policy
This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their “Personally identifiable information” (PII) is being used by the Algo: Supply Chain Analytics Collaborative Platform (“the App”). PII is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information.
Types of personal information collected
The App handles two kinds of personal user information:
- The user’s name and their user ID
- The user’s chat history
Name and user ID
The App accesses the user’s name and user ID. In the case of the Microsoft Teams version, the App does not retain the user’s name or user ID for later use.
Anonymized chat logs
The Microsoft Teams version of the App collects users’ chat history after stripping away users’ personally identifiable information (PII), including their name and user ID. In the web version of the App, users’ names remain associated with their chat history.
Use of collected information
The Microsoft Teams version of the App uses users’ names and user IDs to ensure that the App only provides responses that each user is authorized to receive. It is not used for any other purpose. Additionally, the web version of the App stores users’ names and user IDs for login purposes and for providing personalized messages such as greetings.
The App uses chat logs to improve service quality by better understanding user behavior. The App uses this chat history to identify organization-wide usage trends, including but not limited to:
- Overall volume of requests
- Error rates and service levels
- Trending topics
Protection of collected information
The App is reviewed on a regular basis for security vulnerabilities to make it as safe as possible for users and their information. All personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
Third-party disclosures
The App does not transfer any personally identifiable information to outside parties unless we provide the user advance notice. We may release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.
Transfer of your personal information
Your information, including personal information, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your personal information will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.
Disclosure of your personal information
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy. Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).
Retention of your personal information
We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
